CTSC is the entry point for a lifetime of opportunity and serves as a launchpad for deeper involvement. While most participants experience tennis for the first time here, those who show enthusiasm often transition to into center-based programs through Team United.
Players are also given the ability to become coaches and mentors through LEGACY's Junior Instructor program!

LEGACY Community Tennis Summer Camp

As our oldest and largest program, CTSC is where it all begins: kids from across Philadelphia discover tennis, build friendships, and grow in confidence.

LEGACY's Junior Instructor Program
High school students often face a tough choice: a summer job or a summer camp. At LEGACY, we’ve created a way for them to have both. The Junior Instructor (JI) Program transforms our most promising young athletes into paid near-peer coaches— a first job for many of them, where they get to build workforce skills, leadership, and community impact through the game they love.

86% of JIs leave with strong career knowledge and skills, from resumes to interview prep
86% grow in essential life skills like collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.
79% strengthen their persistence and goal-setting mindset, preparing them for challenges ahead.

LEGACY's Team United
This fall, LEGACY launched Team United—a selective program for 7–9 year-olds who stood out in our Community Tennis Summer Camp for their hard work, great attitude, and love of the game. These young athletes now receive individualized coaching, personalized development plans year-round, and clear pathways to success at LEGACY.
The impact is already remarkable:
100% of participants reported “a lot” of satisfaction with the program.
